The policies that govern your use of The Global Sanctum platform, and how we protect your information.

The Global Sanctum ("TGS", "we", "our", "us") welcomes you. By accessing or using our platform (www.theglobalsanctum.com and any sub-pages), you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Purpose of the Site

This site is operated by The Global Sanctum to share information about our platform, services, and community initiatives. Content is for general information only and may change or be updated at any time.

2. About TGS

TGS is a venue discovery and booking platform for retreat venues, wellness resorts, facilitators/hosts, and travellers.

  • TGS does not own or operate the venues listed.
  • We act as an intermediary connecting venue owners with facilitators and travellers.
  • All bookings are subject to the policies of the venue and host, as well as these Terms.

3. User Roles

You may interact with TGS in one or more of the following roles:

  • Venue Owner: lists property or resort for hire via subscription.
  • Facilitator/Host: books venues for retreats or events.
  • Traveller/Guest: books wellness stays or retreats via platform.

Different rules may apply depending on your role.

4. Intellectual Property

All written content, brand concepts, layout design, and original materials on this site are the property of The Global Sanctum and are protected under Australian copyright and trademark law.

5. Subscriptions & Fees

Venue owners subscribe to TGS on a monthly basis. Subscription tiers, pricing, and included features are detailed on our List Your Venue page. Commissions are applied on a per-booking basis at rates determined by subscription tier.

All fees are subject to change with reasonable notice. Stripe processing fees (3%) are applied separately and transparently.

6. Bookings & Payments

All bookings are facilitated through the TGS platform. Payments are processed securely via Stripe Connect. TGS acts as the intermediary for all financial transactions between parties.

  • Booking confirmations are subject to venue availability and host acceptance.
  • Payment terms and deposit requirements vary by venue and are clearly stated at the time of booking.
  • TGS commission is deducted before funds are disbursed to venue owners.

7. Refunds & Cancellations

Cancellation and refund policies are determined by each venue and communicated at the time of booking. TGS facilitates the refund process but the specific terms are set by the venue owner or host.

  • Cancellations made within the venue's stated policy period will be refunded accordingly.
  • TGS platform fees may be non-refundable depending on the circumstances.
  • Force majeure events are handled on a case-by-case basis.

8. Community Standards

All users are expected to engage respectfully with the TGS community. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate our community standards, including but not limited to harassment, misrepresentation, or fraudulent activity.

9. Liabilities & Disclaimers

TGS acts as an intermediary only. We are not responsible for venue conditions, host performance, or traveller behaviour. Our role is to facilitate secure bookings and payments.

  • TGS is not liable for the condition, safety or suitability of venues.
  • TGS does not guarantee the performance of hosts, facilitators, or venue owners.
  • Our responsibility is limited to operating the booking platform and processing payments.

We aim to ensure all information on the site is accurate, but we make no representations or warranties of any kind regarding completeness, reliability, or suitability of the content.

10. Insurance

Venue owners are required to maintain appropriate insurance for their properties. Facilitators and hosts are strongly encouraged to carry professional indemnity insurance. Travellers are strongly encouraged to obtain their own travel and health insurance.

TGS maintains appropriate business insurance for platform operations. This does not extend to coverage of users, venues, or third-party services.

11. Non-Payment & Account Suspension

All users are required to pay fees and charges in accordance with these Terms. If payments are not received within the agreed timeframe, a reminder will be issued within 3 days, a late fee will be applied after 7 days (2% per week), and the account may be suspended after 14 days of non-payment.

12. Disputes & Resolution

In the event of a dispute, parties are encouraged to resolve matters directly. TGS may offer mediation support but is not obligated to resolve disputes between users. Formal disputes will be governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.

13. Changes to These Terms

The Global Sanctum reserves the right to update or amend these terms with notice. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

14. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any legal proceedings shall be conducted in the courts of Queensland.

  • With Venues or Facilitators when you submit a booking or enquiry.
  • With Payment Processors (e.g. Stripe) to process transactions.
  • With Service Providers who support our operations (e.g. email platforms, hosting, analytics).
  • When required by Law, Regulation, or Court Order.
  • In Business Transfers, such as mergers or acquisitions.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption, secure servers, and access controls to protect your data.

  • We restrict access to personal information to authorised staff and contractors only.
  • Despite our safeguards, no system is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. International Data Transfers

As TGS is a global platform, your information may be transferred across countries to enable bookings and services. We take steps to ensure any such transfers comply with privacy and relevant GDPR legislation.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal information.
